This is a web site for information on happenings in our Bethesda neighborhood.  Yes, we're centered in 20817, but we cover other Bethesda zips, too -- 20814, 20815, & 20816.  Glen Echo, too!  And Chevy Chase, of course, if they'll have us.

Reason for Being

     I started this site for 4 reasons.  First, to have an official site for my small Bethesda-based business, FVT.  Second, to have an easy way to learn & share what's going on in our hyper-local environment that might affect our families for good or bad.  Third, to have a place to post interesting materials produced by professional and personal friends (with their permission, of course), sort of blog-like, but sometimes lengthier than a normal blog. Fourth, to help other owners of  small businesses in Bethesda to get the word out about the services they provide right here in "river city."   

Who We Are

I'm Judy Wagner, a resident of Bethesda 20817.  I own and administer the web site. I've lived in Bethesda for over 30 years, over half of them in good old 20814.  I spent over 30 years as a health policy analyst in Washington think tanks, public and private.  Over the years, I became interested in family history research and searched for an entertaining way to bring the characters in my family to life.  The wonders of digital video emerged at about the same time, and at Montgomery College I learned digital video editng.  Now I run my very small but very happy business helping local people put together DVD videos of family stories  for their descendents. 

Like many Bethesdans, I have only a hazy sense of what's going on in the immediate vicinity of my home.  What are the developers doing?  What are the politicians doing?  What are the non-profits doing? What is the County and State bureaucracy doing right here in "River City" that might affect my family and my neighbors?  So, I concocted this multi-purpose website as a collection point for items and materials that may help us all keep informed.  I'll depend on others to submit items for posting.
